ABOUT DR. GAGLIARDI Colorado native born and raised in Boulder,CO. I became interested in veterinary medicine when I was a child through reading the James Herriot books. I always wanted to work with a wide variety of animals just as is described in the book ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL. I enjoy working with a wide variety of species including dogs , cats, and pocket pets like rats, guinea pigs, lizards, and even snakes. I have a huge passion for both western and eastern medicine. I am certified to do acupuncture on small animals through the medical based Curacore acupuncture course which I completed in October 2016. I have two degrees from Colorado State University one in Sports Medicine (2005) and one as a doctor of veterinary medicine(2010). I have worked at a wide variety of veterinary hospitals ranging from: rural large animal and small animal  private practices to small animal and pocket pets/exotics specialty clinics. I enjoy preventative care, dentistry, internal medicine, and acupuncture/pain management. In my free time I love spending time with my family and being outdoors, especially in the mountains. I have been married to my husband for 19 years and he is a Boulder Colorado native as well. We have three little girls ages 5 years, 10 years, and12 years old . We also have one furry child our dog Cassie. We live in Erie and we are thankful to live near family as my parents and husband’s parents live in Boulder County. I enjoy international travel and serving in third world countries. I have been to Africa 5 times on volunteer trips and have also traveled to Honduras, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada , Nepal, and several parts of Europe.

Another passion I have is for therapy dogs/pets and service dogs/pets. I have been volunteering in nursing homes and hospitals for the past two decades and have helped with the vet behavioral exams for therapy dogs at  the UC Hospital in Longmont. Our dog  Cassie is currently a therapy dog at a memory care facility in Longmont and our previous dog Lucy was a therapy dog for local nursing homes for over 10 years. It is such a blessing to be working with animals of all kinds and I find the human animal bond to be one of the most amazing gifts in all the world.
